ELECTRICITY DEMAND IN NIGERIA
The electricity demand in Nigeria will experience strong growth in the coming years. This growth is driven by two main factors:
- Population growth: Nigeria’s population, currently around 200 million, increases by about 3% annually. By 2050, Nigeria is expected to surpass the United States as the world’s third most populous country.
- Economic growth and infrastructural development: Even with modest economic growth, electricity demand invariably increases. However, according to NERC, several factors hamper the market, including:
- High tariffs for energy usage in combination with widespread poverty
- Inefficient billing and collection system
- Inadequate generation and transmission infrastructure
- Distribution of retail facilities due to numerous bottlenecks, including a poor road network
- Limited access to the national grid, which fails to reach most rural areas and some parts of cities due to underinvestment over decades as well as the sheer size of the country.
- Inadequate infrastructure overall
- Residential use drives the demand more significantly than commercial and industrial sectors.

The example about the mattress sizing page you mentioned in the last WBF can be a perfect example of new keywords and content, and broadening the funnel as well. I can only imagine the sale numbers if that was the site of a mattress selling company.
